Every camp and lodge has resident guides – but Bushbuck goes a step further
We select the best camps and lodges across Africa with excellent resident guides, because a great guide is paramount to the success of your safari. As a standard a resident guide will take up to six guests out on their safari activities twice a day. Clients have the option to pay a supplement for a resident private guide and private vehicle, just for their party, to give greater exclusivity to their gameviewing.
However, Bushbuck Safaris specialises in going one step further. Using an array of Africa’s best private safari guides collected over the years, we can match you with a third party specialist guide, not attached to a particular camp or lodge, but hand picked by us for their specialisation or extraordinary levels of guiding.
Flexible private guiding
Your private guide can be with you for the whole safari from beginning to end, staying with you in a selection of permanent camps or lodges or using their own fully staffed mobile camp.
You need not opt for a private guided safari throughout, however. A two-week safari can include a private guided safari for just 4/5 days.
All our private guides have their areas of expertise: walking, boating, 4×4 safaris with a mobile camp, riding for example, and we sometimes combine several privately guided safaris in one itinerary.

We ask about you and your group, finding out about you; whether this is your first safari or whether you are a regular visitor to Africa. You might be intrepid adventurers looking for an off-grid experience, interested in remote locations, exploring and seeking out new experiences.
You may be a family party with diverse interests including photography, birding, walking, boating and riding, wanting each member of the group to be catered for, while sharing the whole adventure together. Or you may not even know what you want and are looking for inspiration.
